Will iDataStart systems support manual transmission vehicles?
Although iDataStart systems are designed to be compatible with both automatic and manual transmission vehicles, only automatic transmission models are supported at this time. Manual transmission coverage will gradually be added in the coming year.
Does iDataStart support diesel vehicles?
Both diesel and gas models are supported.
I don’t see remotes in the packaging. How does iDataStart start my car?
iDataStart systems are designed to enable remote start, on most vehicles, by pressing a sequence of buttons on factory key fob (typically LOCK, LOCK, LOCK). If your factory key fob's range is not satisfactory, iDataStart long-range remotes sold separately can be added to your system at any time.
What’s the range on my factory remote?
Depending on your vehicle model, your factory remote’s range (i.e. signal distance) may vary between 15 to 60 feet. To know your remote’s exact range, verify your owner’s manual or simply perform your own distance tests but please be careful while walking backwards! ;)
Do iDataStart systems support third party remote kits sold separately?
iDataStart systems will exclusively support iDataStart-branded remotes at launch. iDataStart Classic systems support a variety of third party remotes. See the 'Compatible Remotes' tab in your iDataStart Classic system's product page for details.
Can my factory remote’s range be extended?
Although your factory remote’s range cannot be extended, a wide selection of long-range iDataStart remotes (sold separately) can be added to your system.
Do iDataStart systems work with smartphone remote apps?
iDataStart systems are compatible with several third party telematics systems such as DroneMobile and SmartStart enabling long range control and vehicle tracking control from an iPhone or Android device. Additional hardware installation is required and sold separately. Monthly fees may also apply.
Why should I choose an iDataStart over a factory-installed remote start system offered by the dealership?
While remote start now offered as a standard feature on some new vehicles, operating range is typically limited to under 100 feet and offers no command confirmation. iDataStart's wide range of transmitters can offer up to 1-Mile operating range and optional 2-way command confirmation. Moreover, iDataStart systems are also compatible with aftermarket smartphone control systems sold separately for unlimited range and vehicle tracking capabilities.
Will more t-harnesses be available for iDataStart systems?

My car has 2 key fob remotes. Will I be able to remote start with both of them?
All factory remotes programmed to your car before and after the installation of your iDataStart system will remote start (by pressing ‘LOCK’ 3 times) with no additional programming required.
Will my iDataStart system work with my car’s factory alarm?
iDataStart systems are compatible with most vehicles equipped with a factory alarm. To enable remote start on some vehicles, the factory alarm siren will need to be disabled and replaced by the steering wheel horn or by an aftermarket siren sold separately.
What’s the warranty on iDataStart systems?
Your iDataStart system is backed by a ‘Limited Lifetime Warranty’. If your iDataStart systems fails to remote start your vehicle, simply return it to your iDataStart Authorized Dealer for repair or replacement. See the complete warranty details here.
Can installing an iDatastart void my car’s warranty?
Contrary to what a car salesman might tell you, this is simply not true. iDataStart can easily be installed/removed without cutting any wires OR affecting your vehicle’s original functionality, which means it should not affect your vehicle’s warranty. If you reside in the USA, you are also protected by the Magnusson Moss Act. Check out the facts here.
Can iDataStart drain my car battery?
iDataStart systems are designed for extremely low current draw and will not affect your battery life if your vehicle is used frequently. If you plan on putting your vehicle in storage or leaving it unused over an extended period, we recommend disconnecting the battery to avoid the risk of premature drainage.
Can my iDataStart system be transferred to another vehicle?
